Attended a fantastic symphonic workshop this evening at Wesleyan's Crowell Hall [free].David Amram, composer, conducted his 'Symphonic Variations on a Song by Woody Guthrie.' The music was played by the Wesleyan University Orchestra; all non-music majors. The song was 'This Land is Your Land' and the concert was introduced by Nora Guthrie, Woody's daughter [Arlo's sister]. She is responsible for the commission for the work to be composed.
The players, all sixty of them, played remarkably well for students that are not Music Majors. Angel Gil-Ordoñez, Music Director, should well be proud of this group.

Do you mean his daughter? I'm so confused.
No wonder you were confused. What I meant to say was that Nora is Woody's daughter and Arlo's brother. I have corrected the blog entry. Thanks!
