new towel...

Just got my new Aquis Adventure Towel from Amazon.com. It is super absorbent and will come in very handy in Brazil [is there a theme here?]. It comes in a mesh carrycase and has a loop on it to hang dry.

You do have to get used to the texture, though. It does blot up all the water instantly; I thought I would need the extra-large but the large is fine.

These are the coolest shoes; they will be great for tromping around Brazil. They have a quote from Mahatma Gandhi all over them: 'You must be the change you wish to see in the world.' And for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair is donated to a child without shoes!

Christmas Poem

my change of address Santa didn’t get,
I’ve waited for another day and yet
no reindeer on the roof, no presents
by the door, only hay in my manger –
I guess I’ll wait no more; go out looking
for a present [for myself]; a stranger
or an elf would be a welcome now
to sit with me and joke with me and
tell me to ‘get a life’ and be thankful
for the friends and caring family I have
and then to go and find a wife [NOT!]
