The mouse for my new IMac was freezing up. Sometimes it would work and scroll properly or not work at all and at other times it would just scroll up. So I googled how to clean a mouse ball. You just have to wipe it down with rubbing alcohol while rolling it back and forth. And voilá, problem solved.
I guess I had a dirty ball; now it's clean and moves up and down...

Hey, that's a big help thanks. Mine was freezing up the other day and I thought it was broken. I didn't know when I first got the mouse that it had a right click! Jay told me about it,lol
